I got to spend 12 days paddling a small portion of a river system in the Swedish mountains. It was just me, the Larsson brothers and ‘Galla’, two canoes and shit loads of food, gear and fishing rods. We were inside the magic zone that is the polar circle. And best of all, no mobile phone connection unless one hiked for hours up a peak. During our 12 days we hiked for connection once, and only because we had to. And to be kind to our mothers. The rest of the time was spent without a care in the world for the rest of the world. I haven’t been that relaxed in ages and I also got to enjoy shooting without having to think of a looming deadline. What bliss!

I think every photographer have a bunch of images that never really leaves them alone. What’s the purpose of this image? Why can’t I figure out what I want to do with it? Is it even good? Is it the start of something or an end of sorts?
